(Following details given her by Our Lord, in special communications on the subject, Sister Maria de Saint. Pierre composed the devotional object known as " The Little Sachet".) This article of devotion called the Gospel of the Holy Name of Jesus is a sacramental, an object of devotion approved by the Church, and given to the faithful as a help to their union with God, by means of which they may draw down upon themselves His special protection. This "Little Sachet" contains a piece of paper on which is an image of the Child Jesus and the Gospel telling of His receiving His Holy Name.It also contains some aspirations intended to inspire confidence and love. It may be worn on one's person, or carried in some way, but always with faith in the power of the sweet Name of Jesus. The efficacy of
a sacramental depends, to a great extent, on the interior dispositions
of the one using it. We use a sacramental in a spirit of faith. We
know how Jesus required FAITH from those who asked of Him a favor
when He lived on this earth. "Thy FAITH has made thee whole,"
He frequently said, to those whom He cured. "Lord," said
one man who recognized that he needed more faith, "I DO believe!
Increase my faith"! |
